#365DayBloggingChallenge: 5 Things I liked about the CBC Ultimate Meetup

Date: March 7, 2015
Venue: Diamond Suites and Residences
Event: Cebu Blogging Community Ultimate Meet-up and Pool Party

Last week, I joined the first ever meet up of the Cebu Blogging Community. I officially joined the group just a few days prior and I really did not know anybody there.  I was even a bit hesitant to come, but I was able to force my self to go to the meet-up.

I left home early but I arrived at the venue a quarter past 1pm because of the unusual Saturday traffic in the F. Cabahug area. I have to go to Subangdaku to avoid the logjam. I thought I was really late.  Good thing, the event have not started yet.  I was really happy that I pushed through in going there.

Here are 5 things I love about the CBC Ultimate Meet-up:

5. Venue. I am quiet thankful that Diamond Suites and Residences were generous in letting the group use one of their meeting rooms for the event.  General Manager Aneth Galoy was even there to lead her team in greeting the participants.  Sales Executive Keene Albert Tan also did his part to make the group feel at home.  Diamond Suites and Residences provided snacks for our afternoon program.  After our program, we were even a given tour to their hotel rooms.

4. Raffles and Give-aways. There were a lot of give-aways in the event. I even won a Coca-Cola USB. Flawless Face and Body Clinic even gave all the bloggers some discount coupons.  Diamond Suites and Residences is also giving the CBC members their corporate rates should anyone of us decide to book a room there.

3.  The fun activities like the IceBreaker, Selfies, Photo Ops and Awarding Ceremonies.  The CBC Ultimate Meet Up was really fun.  I get to meet fellow bloggers who are really into enthusiastic and participative. Thaddaeu Engaling of Cebu Teambuilding Services prepared a fun ice breaker that made us all interact with each other. Kudos to Mary, Ruben, and the rest the team for organizing a great meet-up.
2. The talks and the meeting. It was not all fun and games as the participating bloggers were able to talk about basic rules for the Cebu Blogging Community. Blogger/Journalist Miss Eleanor Valeros  of Eleanor New Media, talked about Social Responsibly in relation to blogging. Ms. Rachelle Nessia of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) had a talk about how PIA and the Cebu Blogging Community can help each other.  The meet-up opened my eyes to many issues and possibilities.  Cebu Blogging Community Chief Blogger Ruben Licera. Jr. even led the group in passing and signing the "Manifesto on Public Accountability".

1. The After Party.  We spent around 4 hours in one room, but the real party began when Diamond Suites and Residences treated us to a pool party. There was music, food, wine, more photo ops, and interesting conversations. It was a great way to cap a very productive day.

The CBC Ultimate Meet-up and Pool Party was the first time I saw the members of CBC and I am definite that it will be not be the last. I like the group. I like the energy and the feel of the Cebu Blogging Community. I am really looking forward to the future events of CBC.  I would like to personally thank Diamond Suites, Flawless Face and Body Clinic, Philippine Information Agency, Cebu Teambuilding Services, and Cebu Domain for making the event possible.
